On Wednesday, September 13, in Rochester, NY a battle took place over the rights and freedoms of New Yorkers and America. Attorney Bobbie Anne Cox valiantly fought against the creation of quarantine camps in New York State, while Governor Kathy Hochul through her Attorney General Letitia James, fought to be able to arbitrarily throw New Yorkers into one of these facilities anywhere they wanted in the State of New York and with no proof required.
I have been involved in fighting against these quarantine camps for roughly 2 years by organizing rallies, forums, interviews and supporting the efforts of Bobbie Anne Cox. After all of this, I was waiting for this court case with as much excitement as if it were the Super Bowl! I could barely sleep the night before.
Bobbie Anne Cox had already defeated the Governor and Attorney General in the NY State Supreme Court a year ago. The 14-page decision destroyed the arguments of Attorney General Letitia James. Despite this defeat, the Governor and Attorney General chose to waste taxpayer money by filing an appeal. They also chose to wait roughly 8 months and to the final hours before their deadline to file their appeal. This resulted in the court case in Rochester on September 13.
All eyes were now focused on Bobbie Anne Cox! The fate of the State of New York and America now rested on her shoulders! While most New Yorkers and most Americans still know nothing about this case, they would know very soon if Bobbie Anne lost and they started seeing their loved ones and neighbors arbitrarily detained in their homes or shipped to quarantine camps somewhere in the State of New York. An atmosphere of fear and intimidation would sweep across New York and the rest of the country as other states started to adopt quarantine camps, as is being done in China, Australia, and other countries.
As Bobbie Anne Cox walked to the courthouse, she was greeted with cheers and applause by a crowd of supporters who were there in front of the courthouse. A look of surprise and delight was clearly etched on her face. For so long, Attorney Cox had been fighting this battle virtually alone and without even getting paid for all of the time and effort she had to put into this battle. When she and I spoke over a year ago, she shared how frustrating it was to feel almost alone in an issue of such magnitude. I reached out to groups and individuals who were willing to help and most importantly let her know that she was not alone. I think that the crowd in front of the courthouse further drove the point home that she was not alone. In one of the included photos, Bobbie Anne looked almost like tears of joy were about to form.
The court hearing was aired on Children’s Health Defense TV, better known as CHD TV. Many people were probably disappointed that AG Letitia James was not the one defending her appeal. Instead, she had another gentleman whom most people never heard of present their case. I spoke to several people about his presentation, and they all agreed that he was confusing and boring. He focused on some legal technicalities which the average person knew nothing about. The critical issues regarding the quarantine regulation, he conveniently skipped over.
Fortunately, Bobbie Anne Cox wasted no time highlighring those embarrassing issues that the Attorney General’s office wanted to sweep under the rug. She pointed out that there is already a law that has been on the books for decades in New York State that outlined the procedures for temporarily confining a person to a hospital if they represented a health threat because of some contagious disease they had and were not likely to behave responsibly. The difference between this law and Governor Kathy Hochul’s regulation is that the law provides due process protections for individuals. This includes the requirement that a person had to be proven to actually be sick with something. Kathy Hochul’s regulation would not require that the government had to prove anything before locking a person away in some quarantine camp. There is not even a requirement that the facility be a hospital. The potential for abuse through this regulation is mindboggling!
Bobbie Anne Cox also noted that the Governor’s proposed regulation would have the effect of law, but only the New York State Legislature has the power to make laws! The Governor was clearly trying to steal this power from the legislature! Bobbie Anne went on and on with very clear and powerful points as to why this regulation was illegal and unconstitutional.
When Ms. Cox finished, something dramatic took place that I had never seen before, not even in courtroom movies. The courtroom was packed with people, and they all gave Bobbie Anne a standing ovation! The crowd outside also started cheering! It was a very powerful and moving moment. Just In: Attorney Cox Receives Standing Ovation for Her Oral Arguments Against Kathy Hochul’s Quarantine Camp Lawsuit Appeal
After the trial, Attorney Cox participated in a brief press conference with Senator Borrello. This is included in the video at the top of this post.
(Rosangel Perez and Bobbie Anne Cox)
I would like to extend a big thanks to Rosangel Perez for traveling to Rochester to film this historic event for Children’s Health Defense.
Curtis Cost
Thanks for bringing more information forward about these so called camps. Doesn’t sound like the campsite’s I use to go to with my parents. No barbecue, swimming, boating, fishing, hiking, or anything else.
If we don’t fight back, we will be the ones being barbecued.
I WILL NOT COMPLY !!!!!!!
Thank you for this update and sharing the press conference. Really appreciated Senator Borello’s comments!! I listened live but tuned in late so missed some and wonder if Bobbie listed to the judges all the “diseases” this reg encompassed? Was AG also recorded live? G-d Bless you for all your work over the years!
