Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Declares His Independence From Both Parties – In His Run For the Presidency!
On Monday, October 9, Robert F. Kennedy Jr gave a dynamic speech announcing that he would be running as an independent candidate for President, as well as giving a vision of what his presidency would look like.
He gave his speech outside in Philadelphia, at Independence Mall. It was a beautiful sunny day and a large crowd gathered to hear Kennedy speak.
RFK noted that while there are good people in the leadership of both parties, there are too many who are corrupt. He also stressed that there is an even deeper problem with the two parties in that they have the tendency to see issues in terms of “us” versus “them”. As a result, Kennedy said, too often they are more concerned about the interests of their party over what is best for America
.
In addition, Mr. Kennedy gave a clear vision of the viability of having an independent President of the United States. The dogma of the two-party system limits their ability to look at issues objectively, he pointed out. He promised that as President he would listen to both sides. He told a story about how he learned this from his uncle Ted Kennedy. He noted that Senator Ted Kennedy had a hand in more bills than any other Senator in U.S. history. He said that Senator Kennedy would invite his political opponents to his home. RFK asked him why he was doing this given their positions on certain issues. Ted Kennedy told him that those individuals loved America but had different points of view. The fact that Ted Kennedy would still listen to them and showed them respect, was the reason why he was the most effective Senator in United States history. This was when RFK Jr learned the importance of being able to listen and respect both sides.
Kennedy talked about the corporate capture of regulatory agencies and how he would put an end to that. He also talked about how many politicians in both parties have become puppets of giant corporations. He even dared to vow to take on the military-industrial complex which takes about $1 trillion each year of taxpayer dollars. In saying this. Kennedy noted that he would be the first President to take on this industry. He stressed that for too long America has been involved in too many wars which has hurt its reputation around the world as well as the American economy. He's stressed that a peace economy would be much better for the country and would win the U.S. more friends around the world.
Kennedy also focused on the fact that 85% of Americans cannot afford a middle-class lifestyle. He noted that prices have become outrageous, and people struggle to afford even the basics such as food and housing. RFK vowed to make the necessary changes so that Americans could once again be able to afford a better life.
Among the things I have admired about Robert F. Kennedy Jr over the years is the fact that he is a true warrior who is willing to take on giants on behalf of the little guy. His wife, Cheryl Hines, told the story of a black man by the name of DeWayne Johnson who became very sick with cancer from spraying the pesticide Roundup which was produced by Monsanto. Mr. Kennedy took on his case and won against Monsanto! The court ordered Monsanto to pay DeWayne Johnson $289 million! This victory against Monsanto was unheard of at that time. This case also opened the door for other lawsuits to be brought against Monsanto. For decades Mr. Kennedy has fought many battles for ordinary people! This is why I consider Mr. Kennedy to be a true warrior for the people.
RFK’s speech was so powerful that the SuperPAC – American Values, raised over $11 million within 6 hours! You can read about it here:
In watching Mr. Kennedy's presentation, I felt like I was looking at history in the making! He was inspiring and a visionary like his uncle President John F. Kennedy. He openly declared his independence from both parties and the crowd cheered!
