The Rally
I was one of the organizers of the rally that took place on Thursday, January 22nd, in front of the office of NY Assemblywoman Karines Reyes in the Bronx to show our opposition to Bill A6761 which she is sponsoring in the New York State Assembly. This bill, if it becomes law, would enable the medical establishment to perform all types of medical procedures on children of any age, without their parents’ knowledge or consent.

Medical Procedures Allowed for Minors
These procedures would include administering vaccines, experimental drugs, hospital stays, and surgeries, including sex change surgeries. Not only does this bill say that it applies to all children and not just homeless children, for which there is already legislation in place for those situations, it would apply to children even as young as four years old.

The bill goes further than that by literally specifying “infants” as being able to give consent for medical interventions! This of course is outrageous! The only way that these politicians could get away with this madness is if the public doesn't know about it, which is why we held the rally to help alert the general public about this bill! Our volunteers distributed flyers about the rally in all 5 boroughs of New York City in addition to what they shared on social media.

She Knew We Were Coming
I was the first one to arrive that morning and I was immediately uneasy with what I saw. There were police cars already parked next to Reyes’ office. In addition, Reyes had the gates to her office closed and a sign in the window that read that the office would be closed for the day! It was obvious that she knew that we were coming!

Two police officers walked over to me and asked if I was there for the rally and I told them that I was. One of the officers then said that if we needed anything to just let them know! I was shocked! They were on our side! I felt that heaven had smiled on us. The officers did prove to be very helpful when one person deliberately tried to disrupt the rally. Fortunately, the officers were there and intervened.
The Troops Arrive
As requested, the digital truck arrived early and was able to park directly in front of Assemblywoman Reyes’ office. Children’s Health Defense provided the truck and did the graphics in both English and Spanish. It was very powerful. It caught the attention of everyone walking by.

The rally went very well. We had a nice and enthusiastic crowd! Parents had traveled from all over the city to be there. The musical group: Spirit Drummers began playing and picked up the energy level of everyone. People were dancing and chanting to the beat of the music.
We had great speakers who gave brief, but dynamic presentations which fired up the people! Among the speakers was Dr. Shibrah Jamil who denounced this bill that Reyes was sponsoring.

News 12 The Bronx
The cable news channel, News 12 The Bronx, also showed up and filmed some of the event and interviewed some of the speakers, including myself. They did air it the same day and our message has reached people all over the city and the country as our people have shared it on social media and other outlets.

People have been calling Karines Reyes’ office and commenting on her social media accounts such as Twitter and others.
This bill could become law in a few months! It threatens every parent in New York State and ultimately every parent in America as more states do the same. Please share this with your networks and encourage them to also share it.
