What is NY Governor Kathy Hochul Waiting For?
As most of you already know, the New York State Supreme Court shot down Governor Hochul’s quarantine camps regulation. It ruled that the regulation was unconstitutional and a violation of New York State law. In response, the governor vowed to appeal that decision.
A letter was sent to attorney Bobbie Anne Cox, the attorney who filed the lawsuit against the quarantine camp regulation, and it stated that the governor intended to appeal the decision. This is a standard procedure before an appeal is actually filed.
I was curious as to how much time the governor had before she had to file the actual appeal. To find the answer to that question, I spoke with attorney Bobbie Anne Cox. She informed me that the governor has six months to file the appeal from the date that she submitted the letter of intent to file an appeal. Since the letter was sent about a month and a half ago, this means the governor has about an additional 4 1/2 months to formally file the appeal.
Personally, I was shocked at how much time she actually had. This means that the governor can wait until after the November elections before filing the appeal! Governor Kathy Hochul could therefore avoid the controversy that would erupt if she filed the actual appeal before the November elections!
Those of us who understand the dangers of quarantine camps being set up in New York, must continue to do everything we can to wake up New Yorkers to this vital issue! We have already had two successful rallies in Manhattan in front of the office of Attorney General Letitia James. Other promotional activities are in the works. We need to make this an issue that the governor and attorney general must publicly respond to now, not after the November election!
